This vibrant and refreshing drink is like a tropical escape in a glass, combining the tangy flavors of cranberry and pineapple juice with the smoothness of vodka. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, hosting a backyard barbecue, or simply unwinding after a long day, the Bay Breeze is sure to transport you to a blissful state of relaxation.

Bay Breeze Ingredients

A Bay Breeze drink is made with three simple ingredients. With the addition of pineapple juice to vodka and cranberry, you could think of it as a tropical version of a Vodka Cranberry.

  • Vodka: See recommendations for vodka below.
  • Pineapple juice
  • Cranberry juice: We recommend using cranberry juice cocktail rather than 100% cranberry juice, which is very tart with no sweetness.

How to Make a Bay Breeze

This fruity cocktail comes together in a few simple steps. For the full recipe and all measurements, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  1. Add ice to a glass.
  2. Combine ingredients. To make this drink have the beautiful layers you see pictured here, add the vodka to the ice-filled glass first, then pineapple juice, and finally the cranberry cocktail juice.
  3. Stir and garnish. Add a lime and serve!

Best Vodka to Use

Vodka has a wide variety of quality levels and price points. It is easy to find something good at each level. At the higher end we have Grey Goose and Belvedere. In the middle we like Tito’s. At the cheaper end we find Smirnoff and Kirkland’s vodka to be good and comparable in taste to high end vodka. Whatever your budget is there is a good vodka to be had.

Upscale for a Group

This recipe is equal parts of each ingredient, so you can easily make this for yourself or a crowd by increasing the amount of each ingredient.

  • One drink: two ounces of each ingredient.
  • Four drinks: one cup of each ingredient.
  • 16 drinks: one quart of each ingredient, or a liter bottle of vodka, would be about 17 drinks.

Bay Breeze vs Sea Breeze

The difference between a Bay Breeze and a Sea Breeze cocktail lies in the fruit juice. While both contain cranberry juice and vodka, a Bay Breeze incorporates pineapple juice while the Sea Breeze uses grapefruit juice.

Sea Breeze

The sweet and sour flavors perfectly balance out the vodka in this easy three ingredient cocktail.
