There’s something special about festive fall and Halloween cocktails and shots. From spooky concoctions to sweet treats, they are sure to impress your guests and have them asking for the recipe. These Candy Corn jello shots are not only yummy and easy on your taste buds thanks to flavored vodkas and fruity jello mixes, they are made ahead of time to grab and go when the party has started.

Ingredients

  • Jello. Used for both color and flavor, feel free to mix up the flavor as long as the color matches the layered look you are going for.
  • Vodka. We use three different vodkas for this recipe that compliment the jello flavors. Since the jello will mask some of the flavors of the vodka, using good quality vodkas isn’t as important in this recipe compared to other shots. You may be tempted to add an extra splash to make the shots a bit boozier, but I recommend sticking to the recipe or the shots may not set properly.
  • Sweetened condensed milk. Adds a sweet and creamy finish that also turns the unflavored gelatin cloudy white.

How to Make Candy Corn Jello Shots

Here is a brief overview of how to make these yummy Halloween shots. The steps and ingredients are both simple and easy, however there is waiting time while each layer sets up. For the full recipe and measurements, see the recipe card at the bottom of the page.

  1. Create the yellow layer.  Stir together boiling water and lemon jello until completely dissolved. Add vodka and ice and pour into the bottom third of your shot glasses. Refrigerate until set.
  2. Create the orange layer. Mix the boiling water with the orange jello until completely dissolved. Add ice cubes to the triple sec and combine with the jello mixture. Pour onto the yellow layer until the shot glasses are about 2/3 full. Refrigerate until set.
  3. Create the white layer. Mix the boiling water with the unflavored gelatin. Add the vanilla vodka with ice and sweetened condensed milk and mix until the ice melts. Gently pour onto the orange layer until the shot glass is full. Put in the fridge for 90 minutes or until set.

What is the Best Alcohol for Jello Shots?

You can use any alcohol to make jello shots. Vodka (both plain and flavored) and liqueurs tend to be the spirit of choice that best goes with the fruity flavors of jello.

How to Serve and Store Candy Corn Jello Shots

Since these shots have a jello base, it’s best to keep them refrigerated until serving. It’s best to make them a day or two before so that they have plenty of time to set. Serve in plastic shot glasses and top with whipped cream and a piece of candy corn if desired.

Thank you! I made these and the recipe you have for Drunk Witch Jell-O shots-both were so good! Total hit at our neighborhood Halloween party! Quick note-this did make WAY more than 20 shots-it was double (made 40.) I used “easy to squeeze” Jell-O shot cups I found on Amazon. They said they were 2 oz (looked like they were.) Have some left over for adults on actual Halloween!

Wow! So glad you liked them! Crazy it made 40, we were exactly around 20 for both. We will have to relook and see the sizes of our cups. Again I am so glad you liked them and that they were a hit!
