Cranberry Gin Fizz Ingredients
Here are the ingredients that make up this delightful gin cocktail. For the measurements, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
- Quality gin: A good gin cocktail starts with a good-quality gin. See our recommendations below.
- Cranberry juice: Adds a splash of flavor and color to the cocktail.
- Simple syrup: Adding just enough sweetness, make a batch of Homemade Simple Syrup to keep on hand. It is easy to make with only two ingredients!
- Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed juice is always best for cocktails. In addition to using the juice, you can also use part of the peel to make a lemon twist garnish.
- Club soda: Elevates the fizz! Be sure to use fresh club soda or soda water. I like to keep the small bottles in my pantry for making cocktails.
- Egg white: Responsible for the foamy layer on top of the cocktail, make sure to use a pasteurized egg which is what makes it safe to add to this cocktail.

How to Make a Cranberry Gin Fizz
Here is a brief overview of how a cranberry gin fizz cocktail comes together. For the full recipe including all measurements, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.
- Combine ingredients. Add a splash of club soda to a glass and set aside. Combine the gin, cranberry juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, and one egg white (use a pasteurized egg) to a shaker without ice.
- Dry shake the ingredients. Shake for at least one minute, vigorously to get it nice and foamy!
- Add ice. Add ice to the shaker and shake for another minute.
- Strain into the glass with club soda. Use a spoon to add the remaining foam to your drink. Garnish and enjoy!
Pro tip!
For an extra layer of safety in your gin fizz cocktail, make sure to use pasteurized eggs. This ensures that you can enjoy the rich frothiness of the egg white without food safety concerns.
Gin Recommendations
A good gin cocktail starts with a good-tasting gin. Fortunately, you can find a good gin at any price point. I prefer Bombay Saphire or Tanquerey for most gin cocktails which is a mid-level spirit. Sipsmith London Dry Gin is a great top-shelf option, and for a budget-friendly gin I recommend Gordon’s.
Dry Shake Cocktail
A key step to getting the right consistency and the frothy, foamy top is to dry shake the ingredients, meaning to shake them vigorously first without ice, then with ice. When you mix up the ingredients with the egg white using this technique, you get that delightful froth that makes the cocktail stand out. When you pour this mix into a glass of club soda, the bubbles do their thing, creating a deliciously foamy top for your fizzy cocktail. It’s like a mini celebration in every sip!
How to Serve
While the Cranberry Gin Fizz can be served in any small tumbler, feel free to dress the cocktail up in a fun glass like the coupe glasses you see in the photos. Switch up the garnish! A lemon twist in the summer and a rosemary twig around the holidays are two of our favorites.
