The cucumber gin and tonic is a perfect blend of crisp, cool flavors that make it an ideal drink for warm weather or any time you want a light, invigorating cocktail. If I had to name one of the best things about a recent trip to the spa, it was the delicious cucumber-lemon water they served. The crisp freshness of a cucumber and the zesty tartness of a lemon tasted so… clean. That’s the taste you get with this Cucumber Lemon Gin and Tonic. But even better, because gin!
If you’re a fan of the traditional gin and tonic, you’re in for a treat with this cucumber-infused twist. I have to tell you guys, this is one of my most favorite cocktails for summer. The cucumber and lemon complements the gin and tonic in the most refreshing way. It tastes like a fancy mojito or lemonade, and is a delicious twist to my Perfect Gin and Tonic Recipe.
Cucumber Gin and Tonic Ingredients
This gin and tonic recipe takes only a few minutes to put together, but does require a little prep work. Trust me, it’ll be so worth it! Here’s what you need:
- Cucumber gin: See below for easy directions to make it. (pssst. You’ll need fresh cucumbers and gin.) The best gin for cocktails in my opinion is Bombay Sapphire.
- Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice gives the drink the most refreshing flavor.
- Tonic water: Club soda can also be used if you prefer a milder taste.
How to Make Cucumber Gin
So first, you need to make cucumber gin. It’s as easy as combining thin slices of cucumber into a cup of fine gin. Let the gin soak into the cucumber for at least two hours and up to 24 hours before using. The longer it sits, the stronger the cucumber flavor will be. The rest can be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for up to a week.
