The Drunk Witch is a wickedly good cocktail. The redness and sweetness of grenadine mixed with bright Blue Curacao give the drink its deep purple hue. Combined with vodka and Sprite make the Drunk Witch fizzy and fruity with a subtle kick.

Drunk Witch Ingredients

To make one Drunk Witch cocktail you will need 2 ounces each of vodka, grenadine, and Blue Curacao. You will also need some Sprite to top off your drink and a maraschino cherry for garnish.

To make the great green rim on this drink, dip the glass first in corn syrup and then in green sugar. Grab the great star sprinkles here.

    • Nathan Longley says

Sugar crystals/sprinkles, the type that go on cookies.

  2. Caroline says

What are the stars made of? Trying to fund them onlibe but onky showing heavy sugar sTaR sprinkles

cou this be made with white rum instead Of vodka? ThAnks!

    • Nathan Longley says

Yeah, that would probably be tasty also!

  4. Vicki says

I want to make it a punch. I know to do equal amonuts.what about the sprite?

    • Nathan Longley says

One option is to make the punch, don’t add the sprite and leave it on the side, and have people top the drink as they pour it.

Another option is to add about the same amount of sprite as the other ingredients, so if one cup vodka, add one cup sprite.

I would probably do option one since it allows people to control the amount they add.

  5. Dani says

this looks great, but TOO sweet, have you tried this with lemon lime seltzer instead of the Sprite??

    • Nathan Longley says

I have not tried it that way but that would be tasty also!

  8. Dedra says

How did you get this color

    • Nathan Longley says

Blue from the blue curacao and red from the grenadine make the purple color.

  9. Jessica munoz says

The recipe is a awesome drink .

    Absolutely delicious!

  11. Beverly Millimen says

How can you turn it into a kid friendly drink without the alcohol

    • Nathan Longley says

Instead of the vodka and blue curaçao, you could use something like a blue Hawaiian Punch, blue kool-aid or blue hi-c and mix that with the grenadine and sprite.

Delicious but a bit too sweet as given recipe. I’m on 1st drink. We are going to try to cut the grenadine & curaco down to 1 oz each & see if that cuts the sweetness. Very yummy though. 😋

  13. Jodi says

Do you use Blue Curaçao liquor or Blue Curaçao syrup ? I plan on making this for Halloween looks so good

    • Nathan Longley says

We use blue curaçao liqueur. Hope you enjoy them!

  14. Jodi says

I love the straws that go along with Drunk Witch drink ! Do you know where I can purchase them ? Thank you!

  15. Ginny Stramaglia says

I want to make this as a punch for my Bunco in October.. How do I make this for a large group so they can serve themselves?

    • Nathan Longley says

I would suggest that you use 2 cups of each of the alcohols, this should make about 8 drinks, then have a 2 liter of sprite next to the bowl to allow people to top their drinks with it!

  16. Karen says

I just made this drink. Exactly as directed. Not impressed and will never make again

    • Nathan Longley says

We are so sorry to hear that, not everything is for everyone.

  17. Miriam says

Can I use blue vodka and grenadine and still get the same purple hue?

    • Nathan Longley says

I never have, but it should work, may need more blue vodka because it looks to be a little lighter color than the blue curaçao.

My girlfriend is having a Hocus Pocus 2 viewing party and the drunk witch was an obvious for the mom’s! We made one the other night and loved it, but I was wondering, if made as a batch, do we have to worry about any separation of the ingredients? She got a gallon pitcher with a spout and I was worried that the grenadine might sink to the bottom. Thanks for any help.

    • Nathan Longley says

I don’t think it would separate. Grenadine is more dense so if it does at all just give it a little shake or stir. Hope it works out for you@

  19. Terri says

Mine still was blue. Any thoughts?

    • Nathan Longley says

You can try to add more grenadine to it, that will make it more purple.

  20. Michelle says

I am considering making this for a party, but I can’t have carbonated drinks. Can the sprite be substituted for something else?

    • Nathan Longley says

I would make a large batch as a punch without the Sprite. Then just leave the sprite on the side for others to top their drinks. It will be strong without the soda, but still good.

  21. Max says

Tried it, tasted good but mine is more blueish than purple. Did you use grenadine syrup instead of juice? Also what kind of vodka did you use? Thanks

    • Nathan Longley says

      Hi Max,
We use Rose’s Grenadine Syrup for this drink, if you use juice you will need to add more than the syrup. We use Tito’s vodka most of the time, but since this is mixed equally with blue curaçao and grenadine you could use pretty much any vodka. A good cheaper option is Kirkland from Costco. Hope this helps!

  22. Patt says

Sounds yummy! Gonna make it for my sorority Halloween party!

  23. Lori says

Can this be made in larger quantity, and served in a beverage dispenser? I’d like to make it for a party, and not have to make individual drinks.

    • Nathan Longley says

You can make it in a large quantity, I would leave a two liter of sprite/7up next to it for people to top with.Enjoy!

  24. Jackie says

On the blue curaçao do we use alcoholic one or without ?

    • Nathan Longley says

      We did it with alcohol.

  25. Carol Landry says

Do you have any Christmas drinks?

  26. Susanne says

Great as a mocktail! I mixed equal parts grenadine, curacao syrup and lime juice and stirred it with the sprite. It looked and tasted great.

    • Nathan Longley says

      That’s great and so fun!

  27. Terri says

How can I make a huge batch for punch?

    • Nathan Longley says

So every cup of liquid of each ingredient is about 4 servings. So if you wanted to serve 12 people, you would do 3 cups of vodka, 3 cups of blue curacao and 3 cups of grenadine. Then I would leave a 2 liter of Sprite/7-up next to the punch bowl for people to top their drink with. And if people would like it less sweet you could have soda water or sparkling water next to the bowl also to top with. I hope you enjoy!

  28. Kristi says

What would the measurements be for an entire pitcher?

    • Nathan Longley says

So every cup of liquid of each ingredient is about 4 servings. So if you wanted to serve 8 people, you would do 2 cups of vodka, 2 cups of blue curacao and 2 cups of grenadine, which would be 48 ounces. Then I would leave a 2 liter of Sprite/7-up next to the pitcher for people to top their drink with. And if people would like it less sweet you could have soda water or sparkling water next to the bowl also to top with. I hope you enjoy!

  29. Jess says

What brand of vodka would you use to make this

    • Nathan Longley says

We like the Costco brand for a lot of our mixed drinks, other ideas would be something not too expensive, Smirnoff, Absolut, Tito’s, Skyy. Hope you enjoy it!
