This is, hands down, the BEST Pina Colada recipe because it is so simple. Throw out your Pina Colada mix, because you only need three ingredients to make it yourself. The flavor trifecta of pineapple, coconut, and rum along with the smooth frozen texture just can’t be beat when it comes to feeling and tasting that tropical vibe.

Pina Coladas have long been the subject of song lyrics, movies, and even politics. It’s the national drink of Puerto Rico, after all. So whether you’re in need of two Pina Coladas (one for each hand, right Garth?) or ready to sip Pina Coladas while getting caught in the rain a la Rupert Holmes, this recipe is for YOU.

It’s easy, sweet, and creamy… the perfect cocktail to sip while soaking in the summer sun or needing a dose of sunshine during those colder months. Grab your blender and kick your feet up!

Frozen Pina Colada Ingredients

This recipe is a total winner because it has only three ingredients and no added sweetener! This recipe makes two large cocktails, but it’s so easy to keep adding ingredients to keep the party going all summer long. For the measurements and full recipe, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Frozen pineapple: Because it uses frozen fruit rather than ice, the cocktail is smooth and frozen but won’t get watered down. Using frozen pineapple is easy to keep on hand and will also save you time from having to cut a fresh one.
  • Light rum: It is important to use light or white rum in this recipe as the flavor goes best with the other ingredients.
  • Cream of coconut: Adds a sweet coconut flavor and smooth, creamy texture to the cocktail. This is different than unsweetened coconut cream so make sure to check your label. It adds sweetness and a nice creamy finish. I love the Coco Lopez brand.

How to Make a Pina Colada

It’ll mix up perfectly every time and can easily be doubled or tripled to entertain a crowd. Here is a brief overview of how this easy pina colada recipe comes together. For the full recipe, see the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

  • Combine ingredients. In a blender, combine frozen pineapple chunks, cream of coconut, and white rum.
  • Blend. Blend it all up until smooth and pour into glasses. Fresh pineapple wedges and maraschino cherries make the perfect garnish. Add a cocktail umbrella for an extra tropical touch! Cheers!

I’m excited to try this but I’m not able to find ‘sweetened’ coconut milk.
Do you think I can just add some surgery and how much?
