A Vodka Sour is a classic sour cocktail that contains vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice, and a dash of bitters. A frothy egg white is the “icing on the cake” and adds a sophisticated flare for a happy hour right at home!

If you like tart and not to sweet cocktails, a Vodka Sour will be right up your alley. It comes from the family of sour cocktails, which are traditionally composed of a spirit, citrus juice, and sweetener. The Whiskey Sour Recipe is another popular sour cocktail that we consider a classic.

Vodka Sour Recipe

To make a Vodka Sour you will need 2 ounces good-quality vodka (the better the quality, the better the drink as we like to say!), one ounce lemon juice, just shy of an ounce of simple syrup, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters (optional), and one egg white (optional). While the bitters and egg white are optional, they add character to the drink and are the traditional way to prepare it.
